Some parts required quite a bit of energy, and by the middle of the hike, our legs were already starting to feel tired.
Still, there is something incredibly satisfying about hiking to the summit using your own effort. Step by step, the scenery slowly changes as you climb higher up the mountain. Along the trail, we saw many local hikers of different ages enjoying the mountain together.
One of the best feelings was finally reaching the top after the long climb. After such an intense hike, sitting down and eating our konbini lunch at the summit felt incredibly rewarding. Somehow, food always tastes better after hiking, and enjoying a meal surrounded by azalea flowers made the experience even more memorable.

The ropeway itself was also a fun experience because it allowed us to continue enjoying the scenery from above, which felt completely different from hiking up the mountain. I definitely recommend experiencing both the hike and the ropeway if you visit Mount Yamato Katsuragi.
